Managing Permissions - How to Make Sure every Team Member has the Right Access

    One of the beauties of TrackMage is that it lets you bring on board members of your team. But for this to happen, you have to first create a workspace where the team members will work.

    In this article, we explained what workspaces are all about. And here's our step-by-step guide for creating a workspace.

    The duty of each of your team member will be a function of their assigned permission in a workspace. To better understand the concept of user permission, we suggest you check out this article.

    Basically, there are 4 levels of permissions in TrackMage, namely: Team Admin, Workspace Admin, Write and Read. 

    The team admin permission, which is the highest of all, is automatically assigned to the person who creates an account. Though exclusive to the account creator, this permission can be passed on to someone else on the team. However, you will need to contact our customer support personnel to do this. 

    The other three user permissions are at the discretion of the team admin to assign. 

    To assign user permissions to members of your team, follow the steps below


    Step 1

    Before assigning permissions to your employees on TrackMage, you first need to create a team and a workspace. Thankfully, TrackMage creates a team and a workspace for you during the setting up process.

    Step 2

    Log into your dashboard. Click the avatar icon and then cogwheel icon of the team you wish to work with.



    Step 3

    In the Team page, click the Workspace Permissions tab.





    Step 4

    In the Users field, type in the email address of the user you wish to add. From the Permission field, select the role you wish to assign to the user. Next, select the workspace they would be working on. In this case, we want them to work in "demo" workspace. Click the Apply button.



    Finally, Confirm the permission.


    Note: if you don't select a workspace before clicking the apply button, you'd be prompted to select one. 



    Step 4

    An invite will be sent to the newly added user. Upon clicking the Register Now button, the user will be prompted to sign up for an account on TrackMage. After that, s/he will have access to the workspace s/he has been assigned to. 



    The job role of this new member in the workspace will be a function of their permission.
