How to add, edit and customize an order status description for your Tracking page

Order statuses play a key role in keeping sellers and customers connected. They ensure that customers are kept up-to-date about their orders, including any possible delays or problems that might arise. By providing these updates, sellers can effectively manage customer expectations and enhance their overall satisfaction with the purchasing experience.

Our Manage statuses feature lets you make your own order statuses that fit your needs. These special statuses make it easier to keep track of orders in our system and make your customers happy. You can show specific updates and information that you choose, so your customers always know what's going on with their orders. It's a win-win for everyone!


Set Order Status Description 


1. To set up an order status on TrackMage, let's get started with a few simple steps! First, head over to the orders page. You'll spot the Settings button located in the upper-right corner. Click on it to open the settings options.





2. The next step is to click on Manage statuses in the drop-down menu that appeared



3. Now, you can create a new status by clicking on the click to Add New+ button.

 



4. Or change the existing one, clicking on the three dots at the desired status (1)  to open a drop-down list and then choosing the Edit button (2) in it.




5. Now it's time to add some flair to your order status! In the edit form, you'll find a field to add a title for your status. The code field will be automatically filled, but feel free to change it manually if you'd like. Next, create a customer-friendly description that you want to display. Once you're done, simply click the Submit button.





6. Let's set up a new order status for one of your orders. Head over to the orders page and find the menu icon for the desired order you want to update. Click on it to open up the order details ✔.




7. Now that you're on the order details page, it's time to update the order status to the one you've just edited. You can do this in two ways. The first way is to directly change the status from the Order Status field located in the Primary fields tab (1). The second way is to click on the Change status button (2) in the upper-right corner of the page and set your newly created status in the Update status modal window. Once you've selected the appropriate status, click on the Save  button (3).






8. Let's head to the Tracking Pages tab in the side menu. Click on it, and you'll find a preview button specifically for your store's Tracking Page. Give it a click to see how your changes look in action.




9. Once you're on the preview of the Tracking Page, navigate to the search page.




10. There, you'll find a search field where you can enter the Order Number (1) for the order whose status you've just changed. After entering the Order Number, simply click the Track (2) button.



Voilà! On the search result page, you can see your updated order status description displayed alongside the Order Number and all the relevant information.

11. To make your Order Status description match your brand's style perfectly, go to the Tracking Pages tab on the side menu.  




12. Then, click on the Visual Builder button on the right side of the Tracking page's name.




13. When the Visual Builder is open, click on the default status description (1) and then change all the settings in the menu on the right (2) to what you want.




14. Click Save when you've done editing.



 

That's it! Simply and easy, your Tracking Page became unique and recognizable. It's a great way to keep your customers informed and engaged throughout their order journey!
